Recruit Me
After 20 years in food service, it's time for me to transition to the digital world.
I worked my way up from barista to general manager in 10 years, in the competitive world of New York City fine dining. I'm surely an asset to any group willing to train me.
When I was 15, I made the conscious choice to pursue "Real Life" instead of coding. I don't regret it. I admit that it leaves me at a disadvantage at this point in my life.
I played basketball. I joined a band. I wrote songs. I learned how to make coffee. I read about history, and political economy. I read David Foster Wallace, and Malcom X. I didn't design websites or build programs.
I got a girlfriend. I moved to Portland instead of the Bay. I got into art instead of journalism. I got a philosophy degree instead of a computer science degree. I centered my personal and professional life around people, instead of machines.
I learned how to grow grapes, and how to make wine. I learned how to make chocolate, from bean to bar. I mastered sourdough bread. I cooked for Jody Williams, and Michael Patlazhan. I smoked a cigarette in at least two Michelin-starred restaurants, after hours. I served brunch to Kanye West. I brought carrots to a table of Clintons (on the day that Chelsea announced her pregnancy). I watched John Mayer and Katy Perry play paparazzi games with Allison Williams. I brought sparkling water to a sobbing Julianne Moore. I expedited 400 cover dinners, nightly. I drank, aggressively. I wrote a book about it. I also founded 3 companies, and counting.
I'm an obsessive, creative striver, an autodidact, a rebel and a renegade. I only pursue fascinating, elite-level work. I only join teams that inspire me. I only give my full attention and my best efforts.
I built this site to reach out directly to hiring managers, recruiters, and founders.
